Gisborne was awarded the maintenance of 2 indirect Black liquor heaters, The project objective is to perform repairs on the #1 and #2 Indirect Heavy Black Liquor Heaters (IHBLH). The IIHBLH consist of a hollow shell and a removable internal rotor. The hollow shell contains steam, and the interior of the heater contains heavy black liquor. The rotor is chain driven, and has a series of 135 blades mounted on shafts.
